You can’t have good female fighters that also look like they aspire to be models. If you cast a “beautiful” lead, then surely everyone else has to not be beautiful. Look at Van Damme in his movies, he’s the only “pretty boy” and everyone else is UGLY. Difference is that Van Damme can actually fight. Now, if they cast this white girl, who isn’t that bad looking, and she could actually fight, then the rest of the cast wouldn’t have to worry so much about trying to fight for camera time. You got bunch of these Asian female fighters who may actually know how to fight, but seems just using this white woman to get foot into the door.
